American Youth

To respond to the question about the American Youth, its kind of a hard question for me to answer. At some points in the book it seems that they are having the time of their life and enjoying themselves to the best of their ability. I think that they are running from failure and thats not what I think the American Youth should be portrayed as. Everywhere they go, they don't seem to find what they are looking for, so they go to a new place. But at the same time they are expierencing things and facing challenges that most kids their age will never get to expierence in their life time. Also "In it together" I think that it means that they are all going through the same thing, but might be in it for different things. All of them are trying to find their future but possibly for different means.
