This book is definatly an easier read I think than any of the other books we have read this year and I really like it so far. Tha language and abreviations Kerouac uses seem to be more up-to-date than what Morrison used in Beloved. There were ALOT of new characters just in the first few chapters. I feel that they all have something in common and are all connected in some way. I think Sal is still trying to find his place and reason in life, where as Dean already has and now is just living. All of the travling that takes place in the book also has a huge effect on how the characters live their life. All of the main characters so far, have learned something from one another and used it throughout their life journey so far.
