first thoughts

I think this book is extremely fast moving. A lot of people have been introduced in the first 5 pages which include friends and companions. So far I think it’s a fairly good book, pretty easy read, and not to boring. Usually books take to long on certain things (especially Morison’s books that what tends to get me to boredom fast) I guess you can say it makes sense that that author was doing acid that’s why it’s a faster and more crazy book then normal books. Don't you agree?

While I was reading On the Road it was much easier to read than Beloved. The feeling of ease was extremely comforting. I loved how the book started off with describing all of Sal’s family, friends, what he dreamed of and how he met Marylou. Nonetheless, I still personally found it a little confusing because there were so many names, but after rereading the first two chapters I understood it more. I enjoy how Jack writes the way someone would talk unlike Toni Morrison. Most of the time it was easier for me to understand but sometimes it is more confusing. One time in particular when I was reading there was an extremely random sentence- “I wondered if Dean and Carlo were having their heart to-heart. I would find out later. The nights in Denver are cool, and I slept like a log”. (Pg 45) Did anybody else pick up on his “casual writing” ways?
