I have only gotten through about half of the second part but what I have been noticing is that ends and beginnings are brought up a lot. Like ends of era's or times or friendships and beginnings of new ones. This interests me because I feel like Sal is starting all of these new things to find his place but nothing really ends up working out for him in the end.
