Pumped for break, and part 2...?

okk big blog time, first looking to the issue of Sal's name and salvation I have two theories, firstly there is nothing in common as the name Salvatore is italian decent and it translates to meaning Salvador which is a country that was fought over and at one point thought to have gold which in some small way supports the theory of salvation, also if it were to be Salvatore = salvation paradise it would be an example of that thing where you say something repeated for dramatic effect and emphasis, I'm having a little bit of a mental block on the name of this literary element but you get the idea since salvation is basically paradise especially in the minds of our traveling journeymen. About the issue of sad and sadness I think it is a general allusion to hopelessness and kinda pathetic-ness which may not be a word. However I earmarked the repeated use of sad back around page 55 or so, looking back to those pages it uses sad 4 times in the course of two pages so I think generally when the guys aren't drinking or "making" women, they aren't that happy generally about their predicament, as cristal said they basically mooch off of anyone who will lend them money, or a ride, or a place to spend the night. I'm constantly reminded of college kids although I suspect most of them are older, the idea of the drinking and umm the whole in the car bit with unclothed persons (trying to be kinda mature), living minute to minute...just an observation that has followed me for most of the book.
