One thing I thought was kind of ironic, was when reading part II was that Sal was celebrating Christmas with his family in Virgina and currently it is Christmas time. Nonetheless, Sal's Christmas was not a typical Christmas. When I was reading this I was a little bit confused by what was going with Dean and his baby and why he had to leave his family behind in San Fransisco. The whole situation was puzzling to me. Did anyone understand what was going on with Dean? When I continued reading I started to really enjoy and understand Dean. One part were he impressed me was when he was talking to Sal in the car ride back. Dean was explaining how he believes that everything will work out. I personally think that is a fabulous attitude to have towards life and Dean saying this really increased my appreciation for his character.
